At Hrímnir we take our responsibility to protect the environment and minimize environmental impact very serious.
Classical design
Manufacturing and transport inevitably causes environmental damage. Over-consumerism further multiplies the damage by creating needless pollution, emissions and waste. Therefore, at Hrímnir we have decided that instead of following constantly changing fashion trends and renewing our collection on a seasonal basis, we will emphasize creating products with classical and timeless designs that last.
Durability and Sustainability
Our material is chosen to maximize product durability in order to minimize waste and pollution. We put our products through a long testing process in order to ensure that product design and quality of the material meet our demands of both durability and comfort.
We work with our partners and suppliers to minimize waste and pollution in production and shipping whenever possible. We personally select the material used in our products and have environmental impact in mind when selecting suppliers. As innovations are made in technology and production that allow for further reduction in environmental harm, we resolve to steadily increase the demands we place on ourselves to lower the environmental impact of our company.
We emphasize ordering our products in a sensible way, only ordering what we foresee will meet the demands of the market, without generating unnecessary surplus.
Packaging and Transport
When packaging we minimize waste by using as little packing material as possible, but this must always be balanced against ensuring safe transport of our products, so they will arrive without damage. The net result of reducing damage in shipping is less pollution, as it minimizes waste deriving from products damaged during transport as well as emissions created by transporting returns.
We also work closely with our partners in transporting to reduce emissions and take actively part in projects to organize our transporting in a climate neutral way.
Education and Animal welfare
Hrímnir Community is our statement to the horse community that we are invested in the education of the equine community and are dedicated to social responsibility and horse welfare. Hrímnir Community provides free access to a wide range of educational videos with different professional trainers. The goal is to provide free educational content to the public, increasing general knowledge and understanding of the Icelandic horse, thereby facilitating the improvement of horse welfare in daily life.
